ecoInsight Mobile Audit for IPad, an automated energy audit application, is now available. The iPad application along with ecoInsight's online software, reduces the time it takes to plan and propose a lighting retrofit project by 30-40%.

ecoInsight today announced the general availability of its Mobile Audit for IPad application. ecoInsight Mobile Audit for iPad is an automated energy audit application that allows professionals to digitally collect building data while walking through a building.

The value of the iPad application is its seamless integration with ecoInsight’s online retrofit analysis and proposal development software. Once a professional has completed a lighting audit in the field, the data is uploaded to the cloud for further analysis and customer proposal development.

Over 60 electrical distributors, manufacturers and energy services companies have signed up to use ecoInsight’s integrated mobile and on-demand applications. The applications provide lighting professionals with tools to reduce the time it takes to plan and propose a lighting retrofit project by 30-40%.

“The momentum we’ve been able to achieve to this point is a testament to the productivity and sales gains that are possible with a solution like ecoInsight,” said Sean McCloskey, CEO, ecoInsight. “The release of our iPad application further extends the solution’s value to lighting and energy professionals by delivering a tool to electronically record data in the field… a process that has traditionally been done with a notepad and pen.”

The company recently completed a successful beta program with members of the National Association of Electrical Distributors’ (NAED) Energy Audit Task Force. Task force members provided invaluable input and were instrumental in the development of the various components of the software from the audit tool component through the reports generated.

“Today, we field-collect audit data manually for various projects and they’re sitting in stacks of folders about a foot high,” said Doug Borchers, Vice President at Dickman Supply Company and NAED Task Force Member. “By collecting data electronically in the field with an iPad, somebody could have the analysis done by the time we returned from the audit site.”

The iPad application not only allows internal project teams to be more efficient and streamline business processes, but also provides a platform for collaboration among business partners and customers.

Future versions of the ecoInsight solution will include additional building audit and analysis capabilities in the areas of renewables, mechanical, heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems.

The iPad application is free to ecoInsight customers and can be downloaded from the App Store at http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/ecoinsight-mobile-audit/id426423592?mt=8&ls=1.
