Millennium Redesign of Client's Website Adds Excitement to Every Day Office Products Line

Can a Web site house information on several different brands while maintaining a common thread of identity and, at the same time, be attractive and easy to navigate?

That was the challenge faced by ad agency Millennium Communications, when it was approached by its client The Esselte Group, a world leader in office and personal organization solutions with several brands including its best-known brand Pendaflex®. Esselte wanted Millennium, a Syosset, N.Y. full service agency with two decades of digital marketing expertise, to group all product lines from its several brands under the common heading of Pendaflex®.

The original Pendaflex® site, launched in 2005, had changed little in appearance since its launch and had inconsistencies in the graphics as different brands were incorporated into the site over the years.

"Our challenge," said Patrick Macri, President and CEO of Millennium Communications, "was to give the site a new face that showcases the broad range of brands and products from Esselte. We also wanted to create a "wow" factor for what many might consider to be unexciting types of products like hanging file folders, staplers and hole-punches."

The Millennium team came up with a tagline "Touched by Genius" that places the focus on the creativity and innovations that the company puts into what many may consider everyday items. It also implies that users of the products can become smarter about how they organize their personal and business lives with Esselte products.

The new site, at, launched last week and is packed with a broad array of useful features. It has sections with practical tips for getting organized in the office and at home, ideas for creating and giving effective presentations, and downloadable templates to organize office filing. The site also links to "Beyond Folders," a blog offering a unique perspective on time management, communications, productivity and workplace organization.

The site – -- also has information and specifications on the dozens of products from the Esselte family, including folders and organizational products from Pendaflex®, note taking products from Ampad™, file cards and folio systems from Oxford®, state-of-the-art staplers and hole-punches from Rapid®, and bound record-keeping books from Boorum & Pease®. A locator helps users find nearby retailers who carry Pendaflex® products.
