Pearl Software, Inc., announced the inclusion of text pattern matching in its Internet Monitor and Web Filter offerings. This latest release enhances the products’ existing Data Leak Protection capabilities in order to identify custom defined text patterns that flag and block unsanctioned transmission of personally identifiable information like credit card and social security numbers.

“Pearl’s products already keep an eye on data-in-motion by examining text transmitted in encoded email attachments, blog postings, chat conversations and file transfers” explained Terri Rieber, Pearl Software’s Director of Sales. “Our latest release improves our existing Data Leak Protection offering by allowing customers to define patterns of characters that need to be flagged for review before being transmitted.” Pearl Software’s Web Filter and Internet Monitor tools have been providing customers with a solid approach to monitor and block inappropriate use of the Internet. Exact and partial keyword matching has always been a strength of Pearl’s integrated blocking strategy. With keyword pattern analysis, customers can now generalize the information they want to protect in order to broaden their audit capabilities.

Pearl Echo is an Internet Monitor, Web Filter and Access Control solution enabling effective management of employee Internet usage in mobile, desktop and server-centric environments. Pearl Software’s patented Mobility Monitor™ technology provides real-time review of email, chat and IM content. Internet access permissions can be set at the group, user and computer level, based on time controls, keyword triggers, allow-lists, block-lists and a dynamic library of web domain category filters.    More information on Pearl Echo’s features including Version 10.0 enhancements can be found on Pearl Software’s web site, http://www.pearlsw.com/products/pearlEcho/description.html.
