The MobileTrak5® system maximizes floor space and minimizes construction costs

“As a Pennsylvania-based company, Datum is both excited and proud to supply a Pennsylvania State Agency with the tools it needs to better serve the state,” said Thomas Potter, President of Datum Filing Systems.

With the construction of their new building, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has taken steps to also update their storage systems. Datum’s variety of storage solutions were carefully chosen to create a customized answer to PennDOT’s media storage problems.

The previous system consisting of lateral and vertical files, bulk shelving, and archival boxes stored in various places has been replaced by Datum’s 4Post™ and Stak-N-Lok™ shelving combined with multiple MobileTrak5® Systems. This sleek system provides PennDOT with the versatility to store items from various departments in centralized areas, eliminating retrieval time and keeping materials orderly. Datum also provided PennDOT with a Mail Master™ mail sorting system to help organize the public mail area.

Variety played a key role in meeting PennDOT’s storage needs. The 4Post™ and Stak-N-Lok™ shelving provides storage for various items including books, letter and legal files, archival boxes, rolled files and CDs. The new system is also designed to work with the agency’s existing storage system. Some of the 4Post™ Shelving is equipped with pull out hanging file folder drawers for the top tab files that the agency didn’t yet want to convert.

The MobileTrak5® system minimized construction costs by consolidating storage areas and saving floor space. It is designed to anticipate the needs of future growth and expansion, allowing the agency years of use without having to spend additional money on updates or add-ons.

“As a Pennsylvania-based company, Datum is both excited and proud to supply a Pennsylvania State Agency with the tools it needs to better serve the state,” said Thomas Potter, President of Datum Filing Systems.

The new PennDOT Materials Testing Facility is well equipped to help keep the agency organized and running efficiently for years to come. For more information about these products and many other Datum products, please visit: http://www.datumfiling.com.
