StreamStep to present its award-winning SmartRelease state-of-the-art toolset for release coordination in today’s Agile-driven businesses

Agile development is pushing a crushing wave of software application release cycles that slams antiquated processes and systems used in releasing those applications. This dramatically increases errors and spurs recurring cycles of release failures. StreamStep, Inc., addresses the problem with SmartRelease, the tool for Development-Operations (“DevOps”) release teams focused on the problem. StreamStep has been selected to present this technology at the up-coming 2011 GLUE conference.

“Agile creates challenges for teams involved in the software release process that are not easily solved with existing tools, and StreamStep’s solutions attack these emerging bottlenecks for an improved end-end release experience,” said Clyde Logue, Vice president of Product and Co-founder of StreamStep. “The problem is: Agile teams today drive frequent releases on multiple platforms, with numerous services, and within varied infrastructures. This creates a bottleneck for release teams downstream. SmartRelease gives everyone involved in these releases the tools to plan, coordinate and automate complex deployments.”

“It’s about service-oriented operations teams responding to the business, which is driving faster application releases and enterprise cloud adoption,” continued Logue. “Organizations that accelerate up-front development processes, without appropriate tools for downstream operations processes don’t realize the full benefits of Agile development. I think StreamStep joins the folks at GLUE in our dedication to helping enterprises use virtualization and cloud environments to deliver business applications faster. StreamStep provides the tooling to improve a business’ operational ability to release applications.”

“This was an invitation for the honor of being hosted in the Alcatel-Lucent Pavilion,” said Seth Levin, Board Member of the GLUE conference. “StreamStep was selected by a committee of judges (myself included), entirely based on merit. And the result is a pretty fantastic showcase, like StreamStep’s SmartRelease software.” The GLUE conference is dedicated to the integrating the myriad of apps and platforms now in use. GLUE is the only conference devoted solely to this new problem-set facing architects, developers and integrators. At GLUE, new technologies are explored around web applications in a post-cloud world, such as APIs, Web Protocols and Formats (JQuery, node.js, JSON, HTML5), Open Data sets, Platforms and Providers (PaaS, IaaS, etc), Cloud Storage and more.
