Non-Profits and local Government Agencies involved in economic development can now take advantage of negotiated business intelligence technology discounts through SCIP (Strategic and Competitive Intelligence Professionals) LEAP (Local Economic Advance Program) and its partners like Market Awareness.

SCIP launched LEAP to address the cost challenges faced by many local government agencies. Through this membership, companies are able to provide competitive intelligence data solutions to local and state government agencies and non-profits to help support their local business communities with critical industry knowledge.

“With the economy playing tricks on many local government agencies, Market Awareness made a move to lend a helping hand and it is definitely having an impact,” said Mike Nugent, Growth Manager for Market Awareness. “Since Market Awareness has offered discounts and tailored programs for these non-profits and state agencies, they have displayed more interest regarding where to sign up and how they can leverage business intelligence to define new revenue streams”.

Mike also referenced their heavy involvement in Austin colleges and work with several university business incubator programs. “We are already involved in at least three university colleges with new business creation programs, so it was a no-brainer for us to step up to the plate on this and other initiatives we can offer to different types of agencies,” Nugent said.

This partnership will allow these two organizations to leverage each other to offer something very unique to agencies and assist them with their strategic positioning plans.
