The Pedowitz Group (TPG), the leading demand generation agency, is pleased to be supporting the launch of 2011 CRM Idol, a competition recognizing promising companies in the CRM and Social CRM industries. Brainchild of Paul Greenberg, the contest is open to emerging companies in the Americas and EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) with commercially available software, at least three customer references, and revenues under $12 million in the last fiscal year.

The judges and influencers on this panel are all seasoned veterans in the CRM industry and are offering a huge opportunity for young companies to benefit from their experience and expertise. Only 60 companies will have a shot at the title. Judges will spend an hour with each in a demo to hear about their technology offering and will write a jointly-signed review of what they saw.

Four finalists will be chosen from the Americas and three from the EMEA. Finalists will submit a short video about their company and product, which will be posted online in multiple media outlets. Winners will be chosen by a combination of popular vote and a judges panel made up of leading vendors and influencers in the CRM industry.

The winner will be declared “CRM Idol 2011 Winner” in October.

Judges, mentors and panelists include dozens of CRM experts from all over the world including Paul Greenberg, managing principal of The 56 Group; Denis Pombriant, CEO of Beagle Research Group; Laurence Buchanan, vice president of CRM & Social CRM, EMEA, Capgemini; William Band, vice president and principal analyst, CRM, Forrester Research; Anthony Lye, senior vice president and general manager, CRM, Oracle; Phil Fernandez, CEO of Marketo; and The Pedowitz Group’s CSO, Bruce Culbert.

All finalists will receive prizes ranging from a full day of strategic consulting from their choice of esteemed consultants including Accenture and Capgemini, free media coverage and social campaigns, free services from Microsoft, and, of course, the grand prize of being named the first CRM Idol.

Media panelists for the contest include eight journalists from influential media sites on social media, CRM, and small business including Anita Campbell, publisher of; Robin Carey, CEO of Social Media Today; and Barney Beal, managing editor of SearchCRM.

“Getting the support of this powerful ecosystem of experts doesn’t guarantee success, but it can be enormously helpful to a young company,” said Paul Greenberg, a CRM Idol judge and best-selling author. “Now these companies have a chance to get in front of some of the most influential people in the CRM/SCRM world.”
