A new site dedicated to helping divorcees mix, mingle & maybe meet, recently launched in beta mode for Texas residents only.

The Post-Divorce Dating Club (PDDC), a division of the Post-Divorce Group LLC, soft-launched its website in beta mode on April 21, 2011 and is targeting Texans who will get a chance to join the club for free in exchange for their honest feedback. PDDC combines both online dating with offline meet-ups, seminars, coaching, matchmaking and post-divorce products and services to help build a comprehensive support network around individuals looking to move past their divorce. The site is expected to officially launch nationwide on July 21st, 2011.

The PDDC was founded by Lee Block, a divorced mom of two, after she discovered the difficulty divorcees encountered when seeking out quality dating partners. Block is the author of The Post-Divorce Chronicles, a regular contributor to the Huffington Post, and a post-divorce coach as well. According to Block, CEO of the Post-Divorce Group LLC, “With the Post-Divorce Dating Club, I really tried to ensure that I had all of the good, and none of the bad aspects of other dating sites. Plus, I added in other features I felt were missing from the others, such as mixing the offline meet-ups with the online membership network. It really is more than just a dating site, it's a whole community.”

This site comes at a time when there is truly a need for it. According to a study conducted by InstantQuest: 52% of divorced moms polled reported that finding quality dates was a major inconvenience or big problem for them; 48% reported having no current solution to finding quality dates; 71% would possibly or definitely join a live local post-divorce meet-up group; and 42% saw the need for a post-divorce dating site. (Feb 2011)

While in beta mode, the PDDC already has almost 2000 followers via social media, over 500 mailing list subscribers, and over 200 people have signed up for the 7 meet-up groups established in Texas during the last month. With a growth rate like this, the PDDC has the potential to go viral across a country with a divorce rate exceeding 50%. A member of one of the meet-ups posted this: “I see great potential for this particular group of divorcees. Houston needs this! Meeting and sharing our journey together can be a real support as we navigate the terrain of dating.”— Lilly Stevens on Mar 24, 2011

Texas residents can take advantage of a free trial membership good for up to 3 months that expires on July 21st for the national launch. Meet-up groups have been established in Austin, Dallas, El Paso, Fort Worth, Houston, San Antonio, and West Plano/ North Dallas and are posted on meetup.com Trial members will be asked to complete a survey and submit any feedback about the site to ensure that any issues or concerns could be addressed prior to the national launch.
