We believe that by utilizing select routes provided by Telia, we can continue to provide our clients with a best-of-breed, highly-redundant, optimized network.
Sterling, VA (PRWEB) April 28, 2011
InfoRelay Online Systems, Inc., an IT solutions and connectivity provider, announced today a major network upgrade that will add 20 gigabits per second of Internet capacity to its network in order to support recent growth.
InfoRelay maintains primary network Points of Presence (“POPs”) within multiple markets nationwide, including Los Angeles and Southern California, San Jose and the Silicon Valley area, Washington, DC, Northern Virginia, and New York City. Within each market, InfoRelay provides server colocation - the ability for clients to host their servers in secure server cabinets owned by InfoRelay. Each cabinet includes redundant UPS and generator-backed power, and is cooled by a redundant cooling infrastructure. In addition to highly redundant colocation, InfoRelay also provides bandwidth to its colocated customers, as well as other customers in close proximity to its colocation facilities.
Because InfoRelay caters to enterprise clients, Federal and state government agencies, and other businesses with mission-critical business requirements, the company's network engineers have worked to reduce all single points of failure within the InfoRelay network. In order to improve reliability and increase redundancy, InfoRelay has built its network to rest upon the networks of more than 15 tier 1 and tier 2 networks – each chosen carefully to meet specific network requirements of InfoRelay and its clients.
In addition to already being powered by networks such as Level(3) Communications, Global Crossing, Tata Communications, and several others, InfoRelay is performing network upgrades that will incorporate an additional 20,000Mbps of capacity provided by Telia. InfoRelay will be adding 10 gigabit ethernet connections to Telia in its Los Angeles and Northern Virginia markets in order to accommodate growth and supply additional capacity and redundancy.
“We chose to add Telia to our network because of the depth and breadth of their peering in Europe. We believe that by utilizing select routes provided by Telia, we can continue to provide our clients with a best-of-breed, highly-redundant, optimized network,” commented Mr. Joseph Vajda, Director of Network Operations for InfoRelay.
According to Vajda, the installation of the Telia 10 gigabit connections will take place before the end of May, 2011, at which points all InfoRelay customers in the Los Angeles and Northern Virginia markets will benefit from the upgrade.
