The interactive event is tailored for various professionals in the construction industry, including public and private owners, construction managers, contractors, subcontractors, consultants, architects, and engineers.

WPL Publishing soon will sponsor a webinar to help construction professionals keep up and deal with realities and risks of the ever-changing climate of government contracting.

In the last two years, the federal government has passed the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) and enacted several changes to the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR). The government committed more than $150 billion in spending for infrastructure projects across the United States to stimulate job growth, but with that spending comes additional performance risks and contract compliance requirements. The webinar is designed to help construction professionals address these risks and requirements. To register for the 90-minute webinar, scheduled for Tuesday, May 10, 2011, at 1:00 p.m. (EDT), visit http://tinyurl.com/4yvjsf8.

The webinar, entitled “Government Contracting: New Risks and Realities Facing Construction Owners and Contractors in Today’s Challenging Environment,” will address the following questions:

  • What increased risks do contractors face taking on ARRA-funded projects?
  • What additional FAR- and ARRA-specific compliance requirements are contractors subject to?
  • What are the realities and risks facing contractors today on government construction projects?
  • What exposure do contractors face regarding allegations of fraud or violations of the Truth in Negotiations Act?

Speaking to webinar attendees will be Navigant Construction Forum Executive Director James Zack, Navigant Consulting Inc. Managing Director Scott Gray, and David McPherson, a partner in Watt, Tieder, Hoffar & Fitzgerald Llp.

Following their presentations, there will be an interactive 10-to-15 minute question-and-answer session addressing relevant topics.

Webinar tuition is based on location, not number of participants, so each registration site can have multiple participants for one low price. To register, visit http://tinyurl.com/4yvjsf8.
