The Projecting Your Project writing contest asks writers, “How would your book shine on the Hollywood screen?” in 140 characters or less

AuthorHouse, an Author Solutions, Inc. (ASI), publishing imprint and the leading provider of self-publishing and book marketing services, has launched a writing contest through Twitter. The contest requires authors to share, in 140 characters or less, why their books will shine on the silver screen. The winning tweeter will be awarded a Hollywood Connection publishing package valued at $3,799.

The contest begins Friday, April 29 and ends at midnight (EST) on Friday, May 13. To enter, participants must submit a contest entry form located on the AuthorHouse website. Contestants must follow @AuthorHouse on Twitter and include the hashtag #Book2Screen in their responses to the question: "How would your book shine on the Hollywood screen?"

AuthorHouse representatives will promote the contest at the annual Los Angeles Times Festival of Books on April 30 and May 1. Event attendees will have the opportunity to easily enter the contest by scanning the QR code with their smartphones at the ASI booth (#913). They then can tweet their submissions immediately.

Contest winners will be notified on May 20 via e-mail. The grand prize–winning contestant will receive a Hollywood Connection publishing and marketing package with exclusive connections to Hollywood executives who are actively seeking new movie ideas. The package includes:

  • Sixty free copies of the newly published book
  • A professional book marketing kit
  • Exclusive script coverage including story analysis
  • Additional publishing, design, and marketing services
  • A featured spot on the AuthorHouse website
  • Exposure to Principal Entertainment, a Hollywood management and production company
  • Inclusion in AuthorHouse’s Hollywood Database

The first and second runners-up will receive publishing discounts of 50 percent and 25 percent respectively for any AuthorHouse publishing package.
Judging will be conducted by the Author Video Solutions Director of Film and New Media, Marcus Chait, and the AuthorHouse marketing team.
