It has enhanced our son's life.

Spring, TX (PRWEB) February 6, 2011 -- Daycare centers partnered with the Crossing Borders Group will be the first in Houston to use the respected immersion technique to teach their children a second language. Toddlers and children up to the age of six will now be able to learn English or Spanish at the centers, through the various early learning programs launched this month by the Crossing Borders Group. http://crossingbordersgroup.com
The Company’s management hopes their bilingual education techniques will soon be rolled out across the rest of the country; Crossing Borders Group is currently licensing the bilingual early learning immersion program to entrepreneurs in other states.
Bilingual children do not just have a social advantage. In November 2010, a research team, comprised of scientists from French and Canadian Universities, revealed in the Journal of Experimental Child Psychology that toddlers who have learned a second language outperform children who know only their native tongue in tests measuring attention control. Other studies have found that bilingual children also have enhanced cognitive brain functions, problem-solving skills, academic achievement, and creativity, compared to their monolingual peers.
Although there are other bilingual daycare centers in the area, Crossing Borders Group is the first and only company to teach Spanish and English skills to toddlers using the immersion method. This technique uses the target language at all times to allow students “immersed” in the language to pick it up naturally, which is the way babies learn to speak their native tongue.
One parent, whose child attends a Crossing Borders Group Spanish immersion daycare center, said her son’s language skills have improved dramatically. She went on to praise the “sweet, caring” teachers and added: “It has enhanced our son’s life.”
The bilingual early learning program is currently offered at various Crossing Borders Group daycare center locations, including Houston, Katy, Spring, and The Woodlands, TX. San Antonio, McAllen and Austin bilingual daycare centers are planned for Summer 2011.
The company offers Spanish Baby, for children aged 12 – 17 months, and an English or Spanish immersion daycare program for children aged 18 months to five years old. There is also a Spanish/English dual immersion program for children aged 18 months to six years old. The Dual Immersion program teaches Spanish in the morning and English in the afternoon.
Students up to 18 years old can benefit from the immersion method to learn Spanish or French during summer vacation at language camps – and their parents can participate in classes simultaneously. There is even an English summer program for international students and their families. Spanish and English summer camps are offered at all four Houston locations and in San Antonio and McAllen.
Crossing Borders does not just teach the target language; students are also taught about different cultures. For example, international students won’t just learn English; they’ll learn about American life in Texas too.
The company caters for all skill levels, from beginners to advanced, and offers group and private lessons, whether the students are children, teenagers, or adults. The immersion method works to improve students’ language skills in all areas, including speaking, reading, writing, and listening.
Crossing Borders also offers holistic corporate programs, with language and culture classes available in private, semiprivate, or group settings. The program is designed to encompass employees’ families too. Several prominent businesses have added the program to their hiring package.
