"Teachers can be confident that their students learning with SuccessMaker are already reinforcing the vital elements of the Common Core State Standards. The digital program sparks the curiosity of learning in students at all levels, while matching up with the fewer, higher and clearer standards now being implemented in more than 40 states," Pearson's President of Digital Learning Bob Roliardi said.

Roliardi added, "SuccessMaker meets today's texting, tweeting generation in their digital world and ensures they are college- and career-ready for the global, tech-driven economy of tomorrow."

Through personalized instruction, practice, and assessment, SuccessMaker offers students access to content developed in line with the Common Core State Standards. With a variety of flexible deployment models, including a new fully online option through which Pearson hosts SuccessMaker content and student data for school sites across a district, the program aligns as well to infrastructure requirements as it does to instructional goals.

SuccessMaker specifically aligns to the English Language Arts Common Core State Standards with curriculum that:

  • Promotes critical reading skills by developing learners' proficiency in areas such as phonological awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension.
  • Provides learners with a link between the activation of prior knowledge and acquiring new knowledge.
  • Offers extensive practice toward vocabulary development and improving comprehension.

The digital learning program also meets the Mathematics Common Core State Standards through a focus on:

  • Real-world problems which enable students to experience relevant contexts for problem solving.
  • Six strands of instruction including data analysis, number sense and operations, patterns, algebra and functions, probability and discrete mathematics, and measurement and geometry.
  • Differentiated instruction, scaffolding of concepts, and alternative problem solving strategies to ensure mastery is achieved.

Designed to accommodate a full array of different learning styles - including those students served by special education, or who are gifted, at-risk or English language learners, SuccessMaker is a great match for many common education funds including Title I, EETT, IDEA, 21st Century Learning, Title III, Head Start and school improvement funds.
