This year’s extensive agenda is comprised of six tracks, rich with case studies, practical experience, and in-depth tutorials that will cover everything from the “how-tos”of starting a data governance and stewardship program to attaining data governance maturity.

We believe strongly in the power of peer-to-peer sharing of experience, so we put significant emphasis on recruiting the most practical case studies we can find.

(PRWEB) May 2, 2011 -- DebTech International LLC and Wilshire Conferences have announced the agenda for the 2011 Data Governance & Information Quality Conference (DGIQ2011), the premier event in data governance and data quality. The event will take place June 27 -30, 2011 at the Catamaran Resort Hotel and Spa in San Diego, CA. DGIQ2011is the world’s largest event dedicated only to data governance and information quality.

Over 30 case studies of DG & IQ best practice will be presented in addition to numerous sessions by industry experts and educators. The Conference Chair, Davida Berger of DebTech said “We believe strongly in the power of peer-to-peer sharing of experience, so we put significant emphasis on recruiting the most practical case studies we can find.”

Why are the topics of Data Governance and Information Quality so important right now? “There are widespread questions of organizational sustainability and accountability, both in the private and public sectors. The financial crisis was just one example, but similar concerns run across all industries,” said Berger. “Is data accurate, is the information provided to stakeholders correct, and are executives basing their decisions on the right information? These have become critical questions for all organizations to know the answers to.”

The conference curriculum is designed to address the needs of business and IT executives who are responsible for managing corporate risk and accountability through effective data and information management. It is suitable both for those who are starting out with data governance, as well as those who already have programs in place. The agenda includes “how to” sessions, breakout discussion groups and case studies to meet the diverse needs of the audience. Experienced practitioners will learn from advanced case studies and in-depth classes and can expect to return to their organizations armed with specific governance improvements. A tutorial track for business managers has been added to this year’s conference.

Just some of the case studies will be provided by the following leading organizations, representing a variety of industries:
