Due to the demand, The Cluster has stated that it is expanding and will be opening an even larger space in Melbourne in mid 2011. The Cluster promotes the following services, Virtual Office, Virtual Office Melbourne, Serviced Office, Serviced Office Melbourne.

The unique combination of cheap serviced office space in the heart of the city, a social and friendly Entrepreneurial atmosphere and organic collaboration between members has catapulted The Cluster from an embryonic concept to a major Melbourne player in Australia’s Entrepreneurial community.

Chris Mosely, CEO of The Cluster stated that, “The business is only 12 months old, but already we’ve been swamped with people who want to be a part of it all. Our waiting list has been growing, and we feel bad whenever we’ve had to turn someone down. There’s some kind of magic going on here, the energy is palpable. It’s an exciting time for us, and it’s great fun being surrounded with such a diverse group of entrepreneurs and business innovators. Every day is surprising. I can’t wait to see what happens when we do this on a larger scale across Australia.”

The Cluster started life as a successful computer game company called REDTRIBE of which Chris was CEO. Due to the Global Financial Crisis, game development contracts from the US dried up, so other business ideas were needed. Chris stated, “I owned the office space, and we had spent almost $500k fitting it out, upgrading the power and data cabling. I felt it would be a waste to just rent it out or sell it. I wanted to do something with it all, and so The Cluster idea was born. It’s still an evolving concept and we want to keep it dynamic at this stage.”
