ORTEC commemorates its tenth year of providing route planning and scheduling, territory planning and pallet and load building software solutions from its North American headquarters. Opened in 2001, the Americas business presence was established by ORTEC’s Dutch parent to enable the company to better service its global customers and the Americas markets. Since then, the Americas business has expanded to include several Fortune-500 companies and the global business has grown by more than 400 percent.
“In stopping to acknowledge this important milestone,” commented Don Addington, president of the Americas, “we recognize that much of our success is due to our team of incredibly bright and dedicated employees. Their talent makes it possible to continue in our company’s rich heritage of providing functionally robust advanced planning and optimization software solutions that enable our customers to increase operational efficiency, maximize asset utilization, improve customer service levels and deliver cost savings that have a cash positive impact on their bottom lines.”
As commodity prices rise, organizations are struggling with the increased costs of doing business. In many cases, companies are passing these increases on to consumers in the form of higher prices or reduced package sizes, which carries risk that their customers will change to other brands. An alternative is to increase operational efficiencies within these organizations’ supply chains to offset increased costs like fuel. ORTEC solutions help companies realize these efficiencies by optimizing load planning and building processes and developing optimal route plans so more products can be delivered using fewer transportation resources. The result is reduced mileage and fuel costs. Currently, ORTEC optimizes more than 200,000 loads on a daily basis for its customers. Church & Dwight, Clorox, The Coca-Cola Company, Dot Foods, General Mills, Georgia-Pacific, Procter & Gamble and Walmart are just a few examples of the companies ORTEC has had the privilege of doing business with since establishing its presence in the Americas.
“It is exciting to see the level of commitment Georgia’s technology companies have in contributing to the overall success of so many global corporations. In ORTEC’s case, we see the same level of commitment to building Georgia’s economy through local job creation and active participation in the economic growth and development of our technology community,” commented Tino Mantella, president and CEO of the Technology Association of Georgia. “We look forward to continuing our relationship with ORTEC and we congratulate you on ten years of success!”
ORTEC is commemorating its 10-year anniversary with an open house for locally-based customers, partners, community members, employees and friends.
