SparkBase, a leading processor of white-label loyalty and stored value programs, today announced the introduction of Paycloud®, a smart phone-enabled mobile wallet for loyalty and gift card programs that securely integrates with merchants’ existing credit card terminals. The product will be showcased at the upcoming Electronic Transactions Association 2011 Annual Meeting.

More than 50 million iPhone and Android smart phones in use today are compatible with the Paycloud mobile wallet. When Paycloud becomes available in their community, consumers can download a simple, free app that will allow them to easily find participating merchants, instantly join their loyalty program, receive coupons and promotions, and earn rewards.
For merchants, participating in Paycloud is attractive due to its low start-up costs and ability to reach the local community and deliver targeted coupons and promotions at a low cost. “Because it’s so easy for consumers to discover and join a loyalty program on Paycoud, merchants can quickly attract large numbers of new customers,” added Hardman. A new merchant on Paycloud can establish a program in days, and for less than $100 to start. This includes terminal programming, a sensor that plugs into the terminal to allow a secure transaction, and artwork for a virtual card. The high costs and lead time required to produce plastic cards are eliminated.
Processing Paycloud mobile wallet transactions is handled by the existing SparkBase loyalty and gift network. Merchants of all sizes have used the SparkBase network since 2004 to enable gift card and loyalty transactions at the point of sale. Access to the SparkBase network is only available to merchants as a white-label product through independent sales organizations (ISOs), financial institutions, and other resellers.

We made Paycloud to integrate with the millions of credit card terminals that can run our software today.
