Is Your Small Business Targeting the Mobile Audience?
Herndon, VA (PRWEB) May 03, 2011
In celebration of National Small Business Week (May 16th-20th) and to help small businesses stay ahead of the mobile marketing curve, Network Solutions® is hosting a free Livestream panel on “Small Business Mobile Marketing: Fact vs. Fiction” on Tue, May 17th, 1:30-2:30PM (EST). Register at http://smbmobile.eventbrite.com/.
Mobile marketing encompasses a range of activities ranging from sending text messages to creating mobile applications. According to the recent Small Business Success Index sponsored by the University of Maryland’s Smith School of Business and Network Solutions, most small business owners are aware of various mobile marketing activities, the best known including: sending text messages to customers about a promo (73 percent) and listing the company on a location-based website (68 percent). While awareness of mobile marketing activities is high, usage is low. One reason small businesses have not embraced mobile marketing is they view the concept as cutting edge rather than a practice they can engage in now.
Mobile shopping is now mainstream and with over 74 million Americans currently using their smartphones to shop (Source: Mobile Commerce Daily). It is critical that small businesses maintain a strong mobile presence,” says Navin Ganeshan, Chief product Strategist, Network Solutions. “It is not enough to just have a web presence anymore. Restaurants, salons and retailers will have to sooner or later figure out a way to go after their consumers via smartphones and tablets because that’s where people are heading to “find”, “buy” and otherwise interact with the merchants.”
To help small business owners understand the importance of a mobile presence and embrace a mobile marketing strategy to help them grow their businesses, Network Solutions will feature the following experts for a one hour Livestream discussion:
