Boston, MA (PRWEB) May 04, 2011
Mom Central, Inc. has announced their five (5) grant recipients from their inaugural Grants Program that began on February 15th and ended on April 15th. The program was created to help bloggers take their personal brand to the next level, as Stacey Smith, VP Consumer Marketing & Community states:
“We consider the talented, smart and ambitious bloggers we work with to be our partners in brand campaigns, and as we have heard so much of their aspirations to grow their individual platforms, we wanted to lend a hand and cheer them on with grants to take themselves to the next level.”
The program was a huge success. Mom Central received over 650 blogger submissions. Once the public voting period closed, the submissions were narrowed down to the top 15 vote-getters in three categories based on Alexa ranking/traffic levels and were grouped into three tiers: top, mid and low. Those 45 entries advanced to the final round to then be judged by the Mom Central Judging Committee.
“Most of the submissions were inspiring and it was just so hard to narrow down,” said Michelle Fernandez, VP, Mom Central.
The winners who will be receiving a $2,000 grant to use towards growing their brand and platform are:
Tricia Fandrey, The Night Owl Mama, http://www.thenightowlmama.com
Tricia’s Vision: “I believe in the brands and products that I purchase and use every day. I see Night Owl Mama growing and expanding into sharing more professional quality video products reviews and helping others to find the information they need on products for toddlers, preschoolers and preteen girls as well as useful household products that make life easier in every day life.”
Rachel Lister, Busy Mommy Media, http://www.busymommymedia.com
Rachel’s Vision: “As a mom, I know what it is like to scour the internet for information that will help me be a better parent, give me tips to lose the last of the baby weight, and find ideas to keep my kids occupied on a rainy day. Busy Mommy Media was created to give moms a way to come together and share their ideas. We wanted to put everything busy moms needed in one place to make it easy for them to find the answers that they need.”
Cristi Comes, My 3rd Baby: EllieAdorn, http://www.EllieAdorn.com
Cristi’s Vision: “My main goal is to help other women, particularly moms, by being an informational support site and network that covers often taboo topics such as suicide, PPD, depression and other mental illness, infertility, prematurity, pregnancy, labor, birth, parenting and relationship challenges. Issues that are SO important to keep talking about, especially for me and other moms going through them, so we don’t feel so alone. We can start to open the lines of communication about things that we’re often afraid to mention.”
Jessica Nunemaker, Little Indiana, http://www.littleIndiana.com
Jessica’s Vision: “Unless you live in a small town you don't even know what's there. As little Indiana, I want to show people that it is okay to go off the beaten path, to slow down, relax, and go with the small town flow. I want to produce a printed small town calendar stuffed with local events and festivals. I want to create a community of small town enthusiasts and be the voice of mom and pop businesses. I want to give local businesses a place to advertise, a way to have a voice, a way to be found, without the headache.”
Christy Ellingsworth, The Daily Dish, http://www.thedailydish.us
Christy’s Vision: "I am a woman in my 30s, a wife, mother and foodie who was diagnosed 6 years ago with a chronic inner ear illness called Meniere’s Disease. My only course of treatment?... GIVE UP SALT. I launched The Daily Dish, a salt free/low sodium recipe site, 4 years ago with the hope of helping myself and others like me. The Daily Dish is the ONLY Low Sodium, Salt Free Recipe Site of its kind, offering over 600 delicious low sodium recipes and counting! All for FREE! I have devoted myself to creating, taste testing, cooking, photographing, consuming, living & breathing salt free food and MORE.”
Congratulations to the grant recipients and to all who participated!
