Portage Community School District (CSD) in Wisconsin, serving 2,532 students, has selected Infinite Campus® as their district-wide student information system. Portage will be implementing the Infinite Campus District Edition, a comprehensive, fully-integrated, web-based system that eliminates the need for several third-party vendors, streamlines administrative tasks and increases communication for parents and students.
“We used PowerSchool since 2002 and realized we needed to update our system to one that could better meet our diverse needs,” said Sue Conner, Portage Director of Technology. “We invited the top three vendors in Wisconsin to give us a demonstration. Infinite Campus was the clear leader in all areas.”
“Portage CSD conducted a comprehensive selection process and realized the cost advantages Infinite Campus provides,” said Joe Fox, Infinite Campus Director of Sales. “They saw that Infinite Campus will not only meet their current needs, but will continue to provide the best long-term value.”
When Infinite Campus demonstrated its product, including premium products such as Campus Food Service, Campus Messenger with Voice and Campus Online Payments, Portage CSD saw several opportunities for cost and resource savings.
“Infinite Campus will allow us to eliminate four disparate systems,” said Conner. “We can drop our subscriptions to our special education IEP Software (SEEDS), high school food service software (Skyward), data warehouse software (Just 5 Clicks) and mass notification system (AlertNow). Using only Infinite Campus for all these processes creates a significant time savings for our technical support team, as well as ensuring more accurate data.”
There is a strong Infinite Campus customer base in Wisconsin, an active user group within Portage’s athletic conference, and a state user group. “The fact that CESA 5, located here in Portage, supports several Infinite Campus customers throughout the state was a very strong influence in our decision,” said Conner. “Their support team is wonderful and we look forward to working with them.”
“I am excited that Portage chose Infinite Campus,” said Kari Krakow, CESA 5 Software Consultant. “As a former teacher and current coach at Portage High School, I am familiar with the district and know, without a doubt, that Infinite Campus is a great fit for them.”
In today’s economy, districts must consider cost, time and other resource savings where and when they can. “Infinite Campus integration will give families convenient access to the Campus Portal with real-time information about student attendance, academics, even lunch details,” said Conner. “Parents can also use Campus Online Payments for school fees, athletic fees and meal payments. We are excited to provide these services to our families.”
Portage CSD expects to go live on Infinite Campus in July 2011.
