Josie’s Frozen Yogurt announces the official opening of its Fairfax, Virginia location. Nestled in University Mall, adjacent to the George Mason University campus, the shop has already become a sweet sensation.
“We're thrilled to open a Josie’s Frozen Yogurt franchise. We absolutely love the product, the concept, and mostly, the support and excitement from the community," said Jeanne Shewmaker, a Fairfax native and co-owner of the new Fairfax franchise location.
Dr. Dale Shewmaker, the other co-owner, added, “We're looking forward to partnering with various local non-profit organizations to help make a difference in the community. Education and healthy living are at the forefront of our mission.” Dr. Dale Shewmaker has been practicing dentistry from his University Mall office since 1982.
Josie’s Frozen Yogurt focuses on providing the healthiest and best tasting frozen yogurt on the market. Josie’s Frozen Yogurt only uses pure crystalline fructose in its product, yielding up to one-third fewer calories and less sugar content than its competitors. Josie’s Frozen Yogurt also offers flavors containing Stevia -- an all natural sweetener -- as well as flavors containing antioxidants and L-carnitine.
With over 150 rotating flavors and thirty-seven toppings, the Josie’s Frozen Yogurt experience allows customers to make their own yogurt creations. The self-serve, pay-by-the-ounce model has been a hit with the local Fairfax community.

About Josie’s Frozen Yogurt:
After John Babcock opened over 160 Subway stores in the Las Vegas area, he saw the need for a healthy dessert shop. As a result, the first Josie's Frozen Yogurt shop, named after his 3-year-old daughter, opened in February 2010. Since then, Josie’s Frozen Yogurt has been an overwhelming success. Other franchises may be found in Ohio, Arizona and three in Nevada.
