NuSil Technology LLC (http://www.nusil.com), the global leader in silicone materials for the aerospace, aircraft and automotive industries, introduces its latest innovation in silicone technology: FS-3511, a 100M% fluorosilicone liquid silicone rubber designed for molding high-quality parts.

FS-3511 is a two-part, translucent fluorosilicone elastomer that cures rapidly with heat and provides minimal shrinkage. With a long work time, FS-3511 provides excellent processability for liquid injection molding. This elastomer is specially formulated for high-quality molded components that are exposed to aviation fuels such as JP-8, chemicals and solvents. Typical applications include O-rings; gaskets; seals; and precision-molded parts for the automotive, aerospace, sensor and oil industries. In addition, FS-3511 is ideal for applications in which vibration dampening and shock absorbency is required.

With lower moisture permeability compared to most standard dimethyl silicone systems, FS-3511 is well suited for applications requiring a medium hardness silicone that can resist water-vapor permeation. It is stable in harsh thermal environments of up to 275°C and offers stability during thermal cycling.

FS-3511 has excellent mechanical properties with a typical tensile strength of 850 psi (5.9MPa), elongation of 240%, and tear strength of 40 ppi (7.1 kN/m). It also provides excellent unprimed adhesion to various components used in the automotive and aerospace industries. FS-3511 can be customized to match Federal Color Standards, as well as Pantone Matching System (PMS) colors.
