Uniting on bringing death to the ideology that Osama Bin Laden employed to cause mayhem on earth (against non-Muslims and Muslims alike), will certainly give cause for celebration.

The Lahore Ahmadiyya Islamic Society welcomes the news of Osama Bin Laden being brought to justice by U.S. Armed Forces. As the architect of mass murder around the globe and an inspiration for the continued efforts to inflict terror on innocents, eliminating Osama Bin Laden was necessary and morally just. Although death is never a time of celebration, we pray that some semblance of peace may be felt by all those who lost loved ones due to this man’s heinous crimes.
Few events in history provide an opportunity for all to unite on a common principle the like of bringing a terrorist master-mind of international exposure to justice. For the faith communities, there is the opportunity to unite on a shared belief that God is the Best and Ultimate Judge and all men and women, whether brought to justice in this world or not, will meet recompense in the hereafter for their deeds. For the Muslim community, in particular, there is the opportunity to unite on the Quranic prescription to be maintainers of justice under all circumstances. Taking advantage of opportunities to affirm the concepts of accountability and justice and their application in our daily lives places us on the path towards peace, the very concept that is diametrically opposed to Osama Bin Laden’s legacy of hate and violence. Uniting on bringing death to the ideology that Osama Bin Laden employed to cause mayhem on earth (against non-Muslims and Muslims alike), will certainly give cause for celebration.
The Lahore Ahmadiyya Islamic Society is headquartered in Columbus, Ohio and is the U.S. branch of the international Lahore Ahmadiyya Movement. For the past century, the Movement has engaged in the effort of reviving the spiritual basis of Islam and eradicating extremism from within its fold, despite being targets and victims of terrorism in Pakistan and elsewhere. Its work is primarily performed through producing highly acclaimed Islamic publications and establishing missions around the world.
