Author-poet Nwachukwu Nnoka expresses the inner workings of his heart and mind as he releases Masque, a bilingual poetry collection made available through Xlibris. Here in his first book of poetry, he expresses in both English and Spanish the contradictions of morality and madness.

What happens when nearly all the cultural institutions we have come to depend on are compromised, when organized religion has lost its grace, when the elected governments have been co-opted by independent interest groups, when the social environments become more virtual than real, and when the business institutions have collapsed? These questions and its answers are the underlying themes of this anthology.

Masque is a small book of poetry, in both English and Spanish, which reflects the contradictions of received morality and inherited madness as a consequence of historic indulgences. Eloquent and absorbing, it marshals over one hundred and forty eight pages of literary pieces that come literally from the author’s experiences.

The poem “Masque”, which lends its title to this anthology, is about transforming into someone else because of certain circumstances. Other poem titles include “Sold Out (Vendido)”, “Art in Heaven (Arte en el Cielo)”, “Hallowed Names (Nombres Sagrados)”, and more, this collection is sure to stir hearts and move spirits.
