Toronto (PRWEB) May 06, 2011
In any industry, there are leaders and followers. The leaders go beyond the regular call of duty, think outside the box, and raise the standard of their craft by putting unrivalled time and energy into their work.
Matt Magnus of Environmental Services Group (ESG) fits the bill of leader in his field: asbestos sampling.
He recently completed a three-day course at the Asbestos Institute in Phoenix, Arizona. Upon doing so, he earned official certification for asbestos sampling – an accolade not required in Ontario.
In the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), asbestos sampling is strictly regulated; schools require a sampler with Building Inspector Certification. Ontario doesn’t hold its asbestos sampling and removal officials to the same standard. Matt thus went above and beyond expectations for Ontario and the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).
After completing the training course and competency examination, he earned US EPA Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA) Building Inspector Certification.
Environmental Services Group is excited to have Matt leading the way in asbestos sampling with the valuable knowledge he gained in Phoenix. He’s implementing the new standards across the company, informing and updating ESG asbestos consultants on the latest safety sampling procedures.
One crucial lesson Matt learned at the Asbestos Institute: too many workers do damage during their samplings, leaving behind potential asbestos dust. Going forward, all ESG asbestos consultants will be equipped with HEPA-filtered vacuums to ensure no hazards are left behind following any destructive sampling. This is just one example of the state-of-the art offerings ESG will provide in light of Matt Magnus’ new certification and experience.
Matt and the entire ESG team are ready to provide Toronto and the entire GTA with industry-leading standards for quality, safety and service in asbestos sampling.
