SPG Solar today announced two appointments to its executive team: Tom Sandman, formerly of GE, as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer and Lin Johnson, most recently with MLJ Energy Group, as General Counsel and Vice President.

“With renewables becoming an increasingly important part of the US investment in energy, both Lin’s and Tom’s incredible wealth of expertise and experience in the energy industry will be invaluable as SPG Solar continues its growth as a national provider of solar power solutions,” said Chris Robine, SPG Solar’s President and CEO.

An operations oriented CFO, Mr. Sandman brings extensive experience in energy and financial services from his 29 years at GE, where he held the position of Finance Leader for Global Wind Projects at GE’s Renewable Energy division.

“SPG Solar is positioned to play a pivotal role in the deployment of solar energy across the country and around the world,” noted Mr. Sandman. “I look forward to working with Chris and the entire SPG Solar team in making this happen.”

Ms. Johnson has over 25 years of experience providing legal advice to corporations and businesses with a focus in the energy industry. With MLJ Energy Group, Lin played a leading role in advising diverse energy clients on renewable energy transactions, power plant acquisitions, and strategies for asset optimization in the wholesale power market. While at Exelon’s Power Team division, she led transaction teams through the development or acquisition of a diverse wholesale generation portfolio of over 5,000 MWs of unregulated capacity located in key power pools across the United States

“SPG is among the premier solar companies in the US at a time of great change and expansion for the industry,” Ms. Johnson noted. “It’s exciting for me to team up with the talented and focused professionals at SPG for this expansion.”
