Atlanta,Ga (PRWEB) May 06, 2011
Ricky Fermin who performs as Fermionic in the Hip/Hop Pop clubs of Atlanta and the surrounding areas announced the release of his latest CD title track "Witnessing Time".
Fermionic has been an influence for the past decade in the Latino musical performance community and after more than two years of defining a new sound has produced an album of interesting, focused, positive but eclectic songs that hit a broad spectrum of musical tastes, beats and rhythms in a new genre. Locally considered a leading edge performer known for writing and performing his own work he decided in 2008 to branch out in a different direction- professional songwriting and music production-but with a positive spin. The public release of the CD will be on July 4, 2011. The current release is to music reviewers and radio stations for promotional purposes. Always interested in the Hispanic struggle against evil in the world title song is a tribute to the Spanish prisoners held at Mauthausen concentration camp in Austria. To many the Spanish Holocaust is a largely unknown part of Holocaust history. This promo CD does not contain all of the tracks and is the “studio” version. In addition to the promo CD there are two song downloads on line from the album. If you are not on the Fermin Music list of professional marketing contacts please request a free copy of the promo CD on company letterhead before June 15, 2011. Send the request to Ricky Fermin, 2902 BriarOak Dr.,Duluth,Ga 30096. This promo CD release, almost fully subscribed is based on availability and will be limited.
The new CD "Witnessing Time" has an abstract painting on the front in memory of Mauthausen and a cover song of the same name. The painting was done by the internationally recognized LA Artist Robert Maja (robertmaja.com) and all of the songs were written and performed by Fermionic with music backup produced in part by collaborating anonymous local musicians, singers and producers.
The first song now in pre release is a tribute to the Spanish prisoners interned by the Nazis for Franco after the Spanish Civil War in the Mauthausen (Gusen) concentration camp. Simon Wiesenthal and thousands more were interned there along with about 30 thousand Spanish prisoners. This camp was liberated on May 6,1945 so the release date is a marker for that historic event. Also the annual Holocaust Remembrance Day is celebrated on Sunday. One of the downloads is the title song-“Witnessing Time“. Ricky Fermin wanted to keep the memory of the Holocaust fresh in the minds of all Spanish speaking people by writing and performing this song. From this haunting song the album moves through a series of upbeat works strongly ranging from loves songs to ballads of Hollywood movie making, an excellent instructional piece on stock market investing and several very danceable, fun-very positive and unique songs rounding out the diversified selection. The two promo songs are available on fermionic.bandcamp.com today for a download price of only .49 until June 15th. Perhaps the brightest note in this repertoire CD is the critically acclaimed "She Likes Me Girl" a local Atlanta cross over favorite. The second download is also from the album and will also be available for .49 until July 15, 2011.
In the Atlanta market there has been a tendency in recent years for this particular genre of music to drift into gansta culture creating a less than positive image both for the content, the listener and the performer. Fermionic decided his music and direction would deliberately go in the opposite direction. The songs on this album show this integrity of purpose. A number of them are actually educational. Fermionic's CD has a number of songs that can stand on their own as hits. This effort has been applauded and locally supported both by fans and fellow performers in the Atlanta community. The appeal for his music and this particular CD is to a very broad spectrum of the music loving public. Fermionic a very prolific songwriter and performer intends to follow this CD with another one to be available in mid fall.
The timeline for the public release of Fermionic's CD has been set for July 4, 2011 and the pre release will allow movie reviewers and radio stations the time to listen to and gauge the strength of this CD on its own merits. As a gesture to his many fans the album is being sold in pre release on kickstarter.com/ (search for: fermionic) up to June 15 on a special "buy one/get one" free offer for $9.99. The CD's will ship on July 4th and then be for sale to the public. After the release date( July 4, 2011 ) the price will go to $12.99 (available directly only from rickyfermin.com) or individual song downloads on fermionic.bandcamp.com at $1.99 per song download.
