I feel as a board member we made a very appropriate choice with HAR-BRO, because the whole repair process was totally transparent. I believe that HAR-BRO has done a wonderful job and we would certainly use them again.
Tempe, Arizona (PRWEB) May 05, 2011
Now celebrating its 50th year in business, HAR-BRO, Inc., one of the largest privately held emergency services and restoration companies in the west, reported the near-completion of a 180-unit condominium reconstruction project. The project included a restoration of the roofing and air conditioning systems damaged by severe hailstorms last October at Belcara at McCormick Ranch in Scottsdale.
Residents of Arizona will recall the storm on October 5, 2010, which produced some the largest hail ever recorded in the state and spawned tornadoes that touched down in Flagstaff. Damage from this storm is still being assessed, as many residents and local businesses unused to this kind of weather damage are just now discovering roof, window and other structural defects.
Once the insurance company assessed the damage to the condominium complex, Belcara’s management team from Rossmar & Graham solicited bids for repairs. HAR-BRO was awarded the contract based on its detailed project plan coupled with fifty years of experience.
Marianne Petrillo, member of Belcara’s homeowner’s association (HOA) Board of Directors, explained. “I feel as a board member we made a very appropriate choice with HAR-BRO, because the whole repair process was totally transparent. There was very little disruption in the community and we’ve had no complaints form our homeowners. I believe that HAR-BRO has done a wonderful job and we would certainly use them again. Additionally, I really appreciated their interface with the insurance company to help the board members understand how our costs would be covered.”
The foam roof systems on all fifteen buildings were damaged to some extent, as were most of the rooftop A/C units. HAR-BRO received the insurance assessment but did its own inspection as well to get a thorough understanding of what would be needed to restore the property.
The flat roofs were resurfaced with insulating polyurethane foam roofing material, sealed with an elastomeric coating for additional weather protection. This type of foam roof system is frequently installed in desert communities due to its strong insulation properties.
“HAR-BRO is completing the staging, cleanup, roofing and A/C mechanical repairs two weeks ahead of schedule,” stated Mitch Kohn, Tempe Branch Manager. “The life expectancy of the roofs on these condominiums was nearly at an end. They would have had to replace them anyway. Although the storm damage was very unfortunate, insurance covered the restoration and that saved the owners a great deal of money while adding value to the property.”
