Strato, Europe’s second largest web host and application provider, has announced the availability of HiDrive Pro for UK businesses, offering either 1000 or 5000 GB of online storage and supporting up to 120 user accounts. HiDrive, the best place for data to be safely stored and shared, now includes packages for professional users through to medium-sized companies, all handling unlimited traffic and files sizes. For startup businesses, the Strato HiDrive Media package provides up to 10 user accounts, with HiDrive Pro 1000 offering up to 25 accounts. In the HiDrive Pro 5000 package, up to 20 users can be given administrator’s accounts. Strato HiDrive Pro 1000 is now available for £49 per month with HiDrive 5000 priced at £149 per month. Strato HiDrive supports common operating systems and devices (Windows, Linux, Mac, PC, Laptop, Tablet PC’s, mobile phones) and for easy access via Android, Strato offers an easy to use app. Users can also connect their online storage with a network attached storage (NAS) device and synchronize it with Backup Software. And the recently announced Mail Upload and UploadShare features which let users upload files to HiDrive without having to log in, come as standard with HiDrive Pro packages. These features also allow password protected third party upload for easy handling of documents on business travel.
Damian Schmidt, CEO at Strato commented, “Many growing companies use cloud services, but they need to know they have enough storage for their important documents and that those documents are safe. The recent scares for international companies who realised their critical data was at risk have highlighted the fact that not all ‘cloud’ storage is the same. With HiDrive, our users can be assured as all our customers’ data is stored in our secure, data centres in Germany, which are run with carbon neutral, renewable non-nuclear energy.”
HiDrive behaves just like a normal hard disk with users able to access and manipulate data as if it was stored locally. Also, users can play and watch all media files on HiDrive easily with many multimedia players directly on a TV.
Strato, a subsidiary of Deutsche Telekom, is also able to offer the highest security available on the market as all user data is redundantly stored in its two German-based data centres, certified to ISO 27001 standard. The data centres are safeguarded against failure due to an intelligent and redundant storage system (new RAID level, patent pending).
