Cynthia Earley Educational Foundation Announces Buchanan & Edwards as Presenting Sponsor of the 2011 Scholarship

Buchanan & Edwards has been selected to serve as the presenting sponsor of the Cynthia Earley Educational Foundation scholarship. The scholarship will be awarded to two student-athletes participating in the 2011 Great Chesapeake Bay Swim, to take place June 12, 2011 in Annapolis Maryland. Buchanan & Edwards is privileged to accept this position and to provide greater educational opportunity to the leaders of tomorrow.

The Cynthia Earley Educational Foundation(CEEF), a nonprofit that helps raise and distribute college scholarships for students, is proud to announce Arlington, VA-based IT consulting firm, Buchanan & Edwards, has been selected as the Presenting Sponsor of the Cynthia Earley Scholarship Award for the 2011 Great Chesapeake Bay Swim. Scholarships in the amount of $1000 and $500 will awarded to the student athletes who have raised the most for the benefitting charities of the Great Chesapeake Bay Swim (GCBS).

The 2011 event is scheduled for Sunday, June 12th near Annapolis, MD. Over 50 eligible student athletes between the ages of 15-22 will be entered in either the 1 or 4.4 mile swim events. The two winning students will be recognized and awarded their scholarships after the 4.4 mile race at the Bay Bridge Marina on the eastern shore of Maryland, just next to the twin Chesapeake Bay bridges.

The Great Chesapeake Bay Swim, Inc., was founded in 1992 as the successor to a solo charity swim for health related causes in 1982, and has since grown to be one of the most sought after open-water swimming races in the United States.
