Sickert started strong entering the transition area in the number four position separated only by a few seconds.    Leaving the transition area in the number one spot, Sickert hammered the bike portion of the race and posted the fastest bike time of the race. Number two athlete Karl Coleman of San Diego could only watch Sickert from a distance as Sickert held the run pace and finished with a near minute cushion over Coleman with an overall win time of 51:30.

An overly modest Sickert declined bragging rights for his performance. “If this is my 15 minutes of fame then I had 51 minutes of it…there are a lot of great athletes here today and I just happen to have a strong day.” “Rick Kozlowski directs a great race and I try to compete in all his events”.

Sickert is an executive level consultant to the health and wellness industry. Rick Kozlowski is a veteran race director and founding athlete to the now popular multi-sport community.
