Author Sean Tennant and his wife, Elena, lost their daughter Selena, who was stillborn on February 23, 2009. To immortalize his thoughts and emotions regarding their loss and to prove to others of Selena’s existence, he pens down this book of poems and short stories. In this newly published picture book, A Thistle, Clovers & Tears, readers will feel the sentiments of a mourned father, a grieving dad for the loss of his daughter. This is a testament of her existence as experienced by the father, the author.

Everyone is surrounded by elements that have some underlying importance that are waiting for their revelation. A belief, that people simply need to uncover their concealed essence, therefore discovering their significance, which is specifically intended for all. In doing so, these elements are held up to an impressive level of existence that can support the individuals during the process of grieving. Meaningfully, these elements assist the person in preserving those memories once they are revealed. A personal thought, these elements now become a perceived reality enhanced by the release of these very diverse and powerful emotions. And that’s what this book is about.

“At times, I found it difficult and rather wearing to relentlessly explain the feelings and emotions that surrounded our loss to those that simply do not understand. More importantly, there was an absolute necessity to convey a simplistic message; grieving is a process of an unknown duration… I inherently discovered that writing poems and short stories was more appropriate than writing a novel, since each poem takes on its own distinct persona and tends to focus on particular elements. Moreover, each poem has an underlying story in itself that leans toward and reflects a diversity of emotions. This form of expression was found to be therapeutic as well as enlightening, while continuing to grieve our loss,” shares the author.

This book will be featured at the 2011 BookExpo America in New York City, NY on May 23-26, 2011. For more information on this book, interested parties may log on to http://www.Xlibris.com.
