Cincinnati, OH (PRWEB) May 11, 2011
Celebrity Dave Lapham has been one of the go to people in Cincinnati when it comes to helping local charities with their events. He has contributed his celebrity and time for more than 15 years in Cincinnati to help many different charities, especially those that benefit children and several charities that have been set up by his inner circle of celebrity athletes. The times has come for Cincinnati's own, Dave Lapham, to take over and run his own charitable foundation for the benefit of children. Lapham's new charity is being called Charities.MD
Lapham said, "The CTRH event is just another one of those wonderful local charity events that allows me to give back for all the blessings bestowed upon me and my family". He continued, "I agreed to become President and run the Charities.MD Not for Profit because it concentrates my efforts in areas of my greatest interests, which are helping children and those in need of healthcare. The Benza family, who founded the http://www.YourCity.MD national health care network including our city's #1 local medical website, http://www.Cincinnati.MD did so to help people make better health care decisions. Together, the Benza's and I created the Charities.MD organization to bring athletes and celebrities together across the country to help even more people in need."
The scholarships that Charities.MD will award are given to top students looking for a career in healthcare. There must be a financial need that might prohibit the student’s ability to attend continuing education in the health field and if that need is exacerbated by an immediate family member with huge medical bills, the .MD board will give extra consideration. The changes in healthcare reform are causing good doctors to leave the field or retire sooner than usual creating a demand for good doctors that is not likely to be filled in the near future. Baby boomers will soon face a shortage of quality physicians if something is not done very quickly. The Charities.MD philosophy is to encourage, promote and support these pre-med and medical students, as well as other potential health care personnel who desire to fill the healthcare gap that is being created.
Lapham continued, "I want to reach out to all my corporate friends that I have worked with in the past and invite them all to join me and help me keep the medical community strong by becoming a Founding Sponsor of Charities.MD. I've scheduled a private Golf Event and Celebration at the exclusive KCC (Kenwood Country Club) this fall in appreciation of the large Corporate and individual Sponsors I expect to join me. I am counting on my friends and generous corporate sponsors to support this most worthy cause to keep their employees, our citizens, healthy, productive and prosperous by helping us develop a strong health care community from these top health care candidates. The first and largest annual donors to step up as 5 figure sponsors will receive special honors and special experiences each year". Lapham promises to create many unique experiences like the KCC outing for his sponsors to show his appreciation of their support.
