Albuquerque’s off-site airport parking service FastPark & Relax is giving back to their community by supporting three students’ education through the Hispano Chamber of Commerce Educational Scholarship Program. The scholarships were awarded in front of 710 attendees at the recent Education Excellence Awards Dinner at the Embassy Suites Hotel.

Manuel Chavez, CEO of Parking Company of America said, “We are proud to support education within the local community. My family is from Albuquerque and education has always been a big part of our life. I believe the students we are supporting will graduate with their degrees and become irreplaceable members of our community.”

“I had the privilege of sitting with two recipients and their families. One recipient goes to the high school that is only a few miles away from the FastPark & Relax facility. Her parents were so grateful for the scholarship award. You could really tell they were fulfilling their child’s dreams of higher education,” shared Marc Dailey, Facilities Manager for FastPark & Relax. He went on to say, “Governor Martinez inspired the kids. During the night it was often mentioned, how Governor Martinez is the United States' first female, Hispanic governor. It was great to see all the students light up when they shook the Governor’s hand and got a picture with her.”

Fast Park awarded scholarships to three outstanding students with big plans for the future. Scholarships are based on educational pursuits, financial need and leadership. All three recipients plan to attend the University of New Mexico. Florencio Olguin Jr. plans to study Journalism and Mass Communications. Sandra Palomares will be pursing a Business Management degree. Hilda Reyes-Saehl will be going into Medicine and wants to focus on Cardiology. Fast Park has given these students the opportunity to continue their education and to achieve their dreams. “Honestly, without our friends and members like Fast Park, many would find it difficult to go to college. I cannot tell you enough how proud I am of Fast Park for stepping up to the plate,” said Alex Romero, President/CEO of the Albuquerque Hispano Chamber of Commerce. “This year we were able to award 103,000 in scholarships,” he added.
