“DDMVerified is a comprehensive system that was created to help consumers sort through these companies and bring much needed transparency into an industry that is in its infant stageies” says Boyan Josic, Founder of Daily Deal Media.

Daily Deal Media, the authoritative source for news, data and resources for the Daily Deal Industry, today announced the launch of a proprietary ranking and verification system for daily deal websites. DDMVerified will help consumers sort through the hundreds of daily deal sites that have launched across America, causing confusion and deal fatigue with the endless bombardment of daily deals.

Daily Deal Media tracks data from more than 500 daily deal websites each day to understand deal details from websites like Groupon, Livingsocial and Dealfind. Information about merchants and product pricing, and when available, deal performance statistics such as sales and revenue results are included in the analysis.

Combining this data with readily available social information on each company, such as website traffic estimates and consumer complaints on websites like Yelp, Daily Deal Media has developed a proprietary ranking system called DDMVerified, that allows them to sort through the thousands of daily deals and give consumers some indicators on which sites are safe to use, and which ones come with risk.

“DDMVerified is a comprehensive system that was created using our ranking system and data to honor the efforts of the best daily deal companies,” says Boyan Josic, Founder of Daily Deal Media. “Helping consumers sort through these companies and bring much needed transparency into an industry that is in its infant stage is the ultimate goal with these products.”

The explosion of deal sites combined with US consumers looking to save money has certainly made this industry explosive and exciting. With that however there are major challenges. Consumers are beginning to feel frustration as its becoming increasingly difficult to tell the difference between companies like Groupon, which has a valuation in the billions, and a website that launched yesterday in someone’s basement.

Daily Deal Media has enrolled more than 20 Daily Deal websites into the verification program. Live examples of the seals being displayed can be found in the footers of daily deal sites like SeizetheDeal.com and ConejoDeals.com.

Daily Deal software providers like DealCurrent that enable companies to launch daily deal sites are also joining the program.

“Deal Current is excited to work with Daily Deal Media to ensure our clients get endorsed and are seen as being very credible to consumers," says Jimmy Hindricks, CEO of DealCurrent. "The daily deal space is growing fast and new sites are launching each day. DDM will help daily deal programs establish a reputation that consumers will recognize and reward established programs.”

Some of their clients include American Consolidated Media, Rewards Network, Pioneer Newspapers, City Publications, and many independent groups.

Daily Deal Media is the industry leader for breaking news, data products, statistics and resources for the growing phenomenon called group buying. Additional products include DDM Insights, a data analytics product that allows companies to sort through historical deal data to understand current trends and help predict tomorrow’s opportunities. Boyan Josic is the founder and editor-in-chief.
