GT Software Announces Enhanced Web Services Access for Natural

Using Ivory Service Architect is easier, more cost-effective, and faster than other solutions for Natural

GT Software, a leading provider of mainframe integration and data access solutions, today announced that its flagship product, Ivory Service Architect, now allows developers to build web services that natively access Natural applications. By providing native access, Ivory Service Architect enables developers to quickly and easily access field-level data without importing the corresponding map or panel.

Another benefit to Natural developers is that Ivory Service Architect is bi-directional, allowing Natural applications to access external services hosted on SOAP, REST XML, and JSON servers so developers have a choice of interfaces.

This enhanced web services access will be discussed at an upcoming webcast: Build Custom Business Solutions Faster with Native Access to Natural/Adabas. Register now for the May 10 webcast. Usage testing shows that Ivory Service Architect can accomplish Natural integration up to 80 percent faster than other methods, with lower overhead and lower costs.

“This is great news for Natural customers because now they have a better way of web service enablement. With this new support, Ivory Service Architect can call Natural programs (inbound) and Natural can call web services (outbound),” said Wes Young, Senior Vice President of Sales for GT Software.

Ivory Service Architect supports the deployment of mainframe-based SOAP, REST-based, and JSON services without requiring any changes to the service definition. It also supports the deployment of web services across z/VSE, z/OS, CICS, IMS, Windows, and Linux. Key features of this ubiquitous platform support include the ability to shift integration and SOA-related workload off the mainframe to reduce MIPS, as well as leveraging new mainframe MIPS-reducing hardware such as IFL processors with Linux on z, and the exploitation of the zIIP and zAAP.

Ivory Service Architect’s patented no-coding approach is deployed in production with thousands of services driving millions of service requests every day. Easy to learn and use, Ivory Service Architect is a perfect match to quickly leverage decades of Natural investment without massive cost, learning curve, or complexity. Combined with an execution engine that leverages specialty engines and Linux on z, there is not a more productive or cost-effective solution on the market.
