Our highly integrated CEU provides an unprecedented level of technological capability for this radar system and we are proud to be a recipient of this prominent award.
Chesterfield, MI (PRWEB) May 09, 2011
Burtek, Inc. a full service design, engineering, manufacturing, and system integration company, was recognized by Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems and presented with the prestigious Five Star Supplier Excellence Award, the highest honor that can be achieved by a Raytheon IDS supplier. With thousands of current Raytheon IDS suppliers only 14 received the Five Star Award, placing Burtek in the top 0.1%. Burtek further distinguished itself as being the only cross-commodity integrator to receive the award recognition.
Raytheon distinguishes its suppliers based on three important factors: on-time delivery measures, sustained performance on quality and commitment to continuous process and quality improvement. The national awards ceremony was held at the Wyndham Hotel in Andover, Massachusetts, April 13, 2011.
Burtek’s role in the AN/TPY-2 program dates back to 2003. When Raytheon needed a partner to fabricate, assemble, and integrate the Cooling Equipment Unit (CEU) for the radar system, it looked for a supplier with talent, skills, and expertise they could rely on. Raytheon chose Burtek, a partner capable of world-class engineering, manufacturing, and quality.
“Our highly integrated CEU provides an unprecedented level of technological capability for this radar system and we are proud to be a recipient of this prominent award,” said Burtek, Inc.’s CEO Dr. James I. Finley. “CEUs provide a pivotal role for TYP-2 and our national security as well as help to protect the brave, uniformed men and women of the United States.”
