E-Z Pack Manufacturing, a leader in refuse truck body innovation for more than 60 years, today announced the unveiling of E-Z Track™, the first computer system to actively monitor critical performance components of refuse truck bodies and chassis.

On display at Booth #3961 at WasteExpo 2011 in Dallas, the E-Z Track system integrates body monitoring – including packing pressures, payloads and cycle times – with chassis analytics such as oil pressure, brake temperatures and tire pressure data. Featuring user-friendly graphical interfaces for drivers (an in-cab, touch-screen computer), maintenance managers back at the home office, and for handheld devices used by drivers during vehicle walk-around inspections, the product is compatible with industry-leading technologies and can be retrofitted to all brands of refuse truck bodies.

“The waste hauling industry has already started to capitalize on transformative technologies that monitor chassis and engine performance, driver performance and route statistics,” said Greg Podell, E-Z Pack president. “Until now, however, haulers have not been able to capture live data related to the packer body, often costing them more in the long run because of continued use without corrective actions. E-Z Track is the first communication system to integrate key body analytics with route statistics, on-board cameras, and driver and chassis performance data.”

E-Z Track reduces maintenance and operating costs while improving productivity and safety by ensuring that drivers and fleet managers are alerted to immediate data covering everything from hydraulic oil to electrical issues. Alerts at “Warning” or “Critical” levels are immediately noted on an in-cab monitor as well as on the maintenance manager’s remote computer. An operator’s performance score, called E-Z Score, supports hauler training and incentive programs.

“A year ago we sat down with fleet maintenance managers at WasteExpo and asked some pretty direct questions,” noted Jim Rogers, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at E-Z Pack. “They told us they wanted greater safety for their drivers, lower operating and maintenance costs and longer life for their equipment. We’re proud to say that E-Z Track is the answer to these demands. It also complies with our long-standing commitment to operational simplicity.”

E-Z Track was developed by E-Z Pack engineers in collaboration with Flodraulic Group, a leader in the design and manufacture of custom integrated solutions for the mobile and industrial OEM markets.

Now in its 43rd year, WasteExpo 2011 is North America’s largest solid waste and recycling tradeshow serving both the private and public sectors.
