Konero Inc., a company dedicated to developing applications for children, is releasing a new iPad/iPhone app called ABCDrive (http://www.abc-drive.com), which will be available on April 28th, 2011 through the Apple App store. ABCDrive is a rare game in that it succeeds in combining learning with a fun interactive driving experience. The app is targeted primarily at children 3-10 years old, but kids of all ages will be challenged enough to want to keep playing because of the multiple levels with different pictures and backgrounds, and even obstacles in later levels.
“ABCDrive is an iPad/iPhone/iPod Touch game specifically designed for children. It combines learning within an interactive driving experience,” said Scott Brenner, Creative Director of Konero. “Kids learn the pronunciation and spelling of words and letters, and this is reinforced by visual and audio cues that are familiar to every kid. These graphics and sounds stimulate learning.”
“The fun factor comes in the form of actually driving a car and running over the letters,” Brenner continued. “Kids can select from a variety of different vehicles. To play, all the child has to do is simply turn the iPad/iPhone/iPod Touch in either direction to steer the car. This easy and intuitive interface provides the sensation of actually driving a car. The object is to run over all of the letters in order to complete each level. Each level looks and feels different, with new backgrounds, pictures, and challenges.”
Konero is a development company that is dedicated to creating exciting and unique tablet and computer applications that motivate kids to learn. The inspiration for all of our applications is based on direct feedback from children.
“Konero created ABCDrive to fill a gap in the kid’s educational app market,” stated Marcel Nero, President of Konero. “There are many apps that claim to help children learn letters, words, or numbers in an entertaining way, but kids aren't fully engaged. That’s what makes this game different from anything currently available: this app is kid-tested. Our own children helped develop it. We’re very excited by the response we’ve had from kids and their parents in our beta community.”
“Our goal is to grow the games as the kids playing them grow up,” said Nero. “In addition to developing other interesting apps for children, we will produce a series of sequels to ABCDrive for older kids.”
