Partnerships with “Best in Class” News, Politics and Culture Content Expected to Drive Additional Growth

The collaboration between Africa.com and the Council on Foreign Relations allows those who are highly passionate about Africa – both on the continent and around the world - to communicate with one another.

Africa.com is happy to announce two new additions to its content: collaborations with the Council on Foreign Relations (http://www.africa.com/cfr/ ) and HAND/EYE Magazine (http://www.africa.com/handeye/). .

Africa.com CEO Teresa Clarke said, "Africa.com is changing the way the world engages with Africa online and I am beyond thrilled that our audience can benefit from the wisdom of thought leaders at the Council on Foreign Relations and the experienced writers and photographers at Hand/Eye Magazine."

1 Africa.com has negotiated a unique relationship with the esteemed Council on Foreign Relations. The new page - found when you click on the News button - contains all of the Africa content produced by the think tank's roster of former diplomats, government officials and academics. Articles range from lengthy pieces that have appeared in the journal, Foreign Affairs, to blogs written by former U.S .Ambassador to Nigeria John Campbell, CFR's Ralph Bunche senior fellow for Africa Policy Studies. CFR’s Africa experts also include Ambassador Jendayi Frazer, a member of the Africa.com Board of Advisors, who was the leading architect of U.S.-Africa policy over the last decade, most recently serving as the U.S. assistant secretary of state for African affairs from August 2005 to January 2009.

Said Ambassador Campbell, "The collaboration between Africa.com and the Council on Foreign Relations allows those who are highly passionate about Africa – both on the continent and around the world - to communicate with one another. It is a unique and most valuable partnership.”

2. Led by Africa.com New Business Development Director Frank Webb, Africa.com has also forged a partnership with the independent publication HAND/EYE Magazine. Found when you click on the Arts & Culture button, the new HAND/EYE/Africa.com page explores the nexus between design and development, culture and commerce, art and craft, and environment and ethics, particularly when it comes to design and culture on the African continent.

Said Editor and Founder Keith Recker, “HAND/EYE’s goal is to engender intelligent debate among artisans, exporters, designers, artists, wholesalers and importers, retailers, and consumers so that all may make smart, ethical, and inspired decisions about their activities. We are pleased to share this debate with Africa.com’s global audience.”

Africa.com launched in February 2010 and is the fastest growing web portal which focuses on news, travel, finance and cultural news about the African continent.

Said CEO Teresa Clarke, “Our growth in unique visitors and page views has been spectacular since our launch, in excess of 20 percent each month. We expect those numbers to continue to rise as visitors see our two new features and a host of others that we have in the pipeline. Stay tuned.”
