It’s great that the Location Business Summit has become the forum for high-level business discussions in Europe.

TheWhereBusiness has announced the attendees list for the Second annual Location Business Summit in Amsterdam. More than 200 LBS professionals will meet on May 24th-25th to debate the best business models to monetise location based services and data.
The last year has shown many changes for the industry, with key movements from big players like Facebook and Google, the launch of many brand and technology partnerships and a lot of speculation around key changes in the proposition location holds in the mobile industry.
Lucy Lincoln, VP of Location Based Services at TheWhereBusiness commented: "Following on from last year’s ground breaking event, we are excited to see so many representatives from all the major LBS players at the event again this year. It’s great that the Location Business Summit has become the forum for high-level business discussions in Europe.”
While location and context-enhanced advertising still attracts the most attention, there is also huge interest in local search, location data, the future of mapping, revenue sharing models, the long tail of services, premium content and free services.
But, despite consumer adoption and industry investment, the clear profit models have yet to be defined.
The Amsterdam Summit is designed to bring together the senior members of the industry to find solutions to this problem. Following on from last year’s hugely successful event, where many deals and partnerships were formed, TheWhereBusiness is confident that this year’s event will provide more of the same.
The industry's elite will gather along with more than 30 senior level speakers from companies including Google, Yahoo!, Nokia, Gowalla, Trip Advisor, Vodafone, OpenStreetMap, Orange and many more.
With attendees from mobile operators, advertising agencies, content providers, LBS service providers, mapping companies and device manufacturers, the Amsterdam Summit is set to retain its title as a hub for the entire location ecosystem.
