Maria Allen, senior vice president and president of the Americas for BancTec, said the company's AP and AR offerings will be on display at Fusion 2011 this week in Kissimmee, Fla.

Through the use of advanced workflow and imaging technology, BancTec ensures efficient and accurate processing that helps clients reduce their annual costs by 25 to 50 percent.

BancTec, a global leader in business process outsourcing (BPO) and transaction automation, will showcase its BPO service offerings for transforming accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes at Fusion 2011, the premier event for financial operations professionals, today through Thursday at the Gaylord Palms Hotel & Convention Center in Kissimmee, Fla. BancTec executives will also make presentations at the conference on the topics of outsourcing payments processing and creating a paperless AP department. BancTec will exhibit at Booth #605.

“Most finance organizations spend a large part of their budget on processing accounts payable because of the manual nature of this function,” said Maria Allen, senior vice president and president of the Americas for BancTec. “In recent years organizations have been under incredible pressure to trim finance and accounting costs, boost productivity and increase profitability. Many are turning to outsourcing to achieve significant cost savings without compromising on the quality of work.”

BancTec will show off its Accounts Payable Center of Excellence in a new video that takes viewers inside the BPO center in Irving, Texas – one of BancTec’s 19 BPO centers worldwide. The video provides a closer look at how automated invoice processing works, from the time paper invoices arrive in the mail until they are scanned and entered into BancTec’s workflow software, where clients can access the data online.

“Through the use of advanced workflow and imaging technology, BancTec ensures efficient and accurate processing that helps clients reduce their annual costs 25 to 50 percent,” Allen said. “And because our service platform works with our clients’ accounting systems, companies can leverage their existing infrastructure without any additional capital investment.”

Along with its AR and AP BPO offerings, BancTec will showcase additional financial process services, electronic document management services, and finance and administration services at Fusion 2011.

Dick Traina, vice president of operations for BancTec, will present “Building a Business Case for Outsourced Payments Processing” at 10 a.m. May 9. Faced with declining check volumes and ever-increasing pressure to reduce operations costs, more organizations are taking a hard look at outsourcing their payments processing. During this interactive presentation, attendees will learn how to accurately compare their current internal costs to the fees required by outsourcers, how to build a business case for outsourcing, key cost-related questions to ask potential providers, and more. If your organization is considering payments outsourcing, this session will be a great starting point.

Sean Neal, BancTec business process consultant, will present “The Chase for the Paperless AP Department” at 11: 30 a.m. May 10. In the past decade, leading organizations have optimized business processes and driven costs out of the order-to-cash cycle. These advances have helped companies achieve and/or maintain profitability in a down market. Less time has been spent on automating the purchase-to-pay process, even though numerous technologies could be leveraged to do so. Neal’s presentation will explore the business value and the expected problems associated with implementing a paperless invoice-processing hub.
