Montreal, Quebec (PRWEB) May 11, 2011
Positron Telecommunication Systems, a global innovator of Telephony and VoIP networking equipment for the home and enterprise market, announced today that it has released the beta version of the V-800 Octal E1/T1 PRI PCIe telephony board. The V-800 is Positron’s second high density blade solution, which can support up to 256 inbound calls while putting zero load on the host CPU.
"The V-800 has a unique design that allows us to support eight E1/T1 interfaces and SIP trunking at the same time, putting no processing load on the host PC,” said Richard McGravie, President of Positron Telecom. “Nothing comes close to our performance metrics. We are even handling the voice codecs on board, which makes our solution number one in terms of price performance.”
The V-800 comes equipped with eight E1/T1 interfaces, 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet, PCIe 1x, integrated SATA controller for additional storage, real time clock with battery, dedicated on board echo cancellation per channel, ability to transcode a wide variety of voice channels and more. It can be configured as a powerful, feature rich IPPBX or as a scalable SIP to TDM Gateway. Unlike any other adapter on the market today, the V-800 can be uniquely installed in a virtual environment such as VMWARE as well as in any operating system and does not require any CPU resources for processing.
“The V-800 sets the bar higher than any product we have previously developed in terms of call density and functionality,” says McGravie. “Aimed specifically at carriers and the Mobile VAS market, this solution is unique because we can integrate the SS7 signaling, 3G-324M stack, IVR call control, remote database access, voice transcoding chip for AMR and has the ability to mix video streams such as H.264 and MPEG. This will allow VASs and system integrators to quickly deploy scalable, robust applications for the 3G/4G wireless markets with no application development, which is key in this aggressive and fast moving market.”
