Atlanta-based Discrete Wireless, Inc., (http://www.discretewireless.com), the value leader in GPS vehicle management and fleet tracking solutions, today announced its customer, Western Monmouth Utilities Authority (WMUA), was able to increase driver productivity by 25% through integration with Discrete Wireless Web Services. Additionally, fuel costs were reduced by 10% through the use of Idle Reports and Alerts.

Robert Noel, Special Projects Manager / GIS Manager and Acting Collection System Superintendent for WMUA, said, “A key factor in selecting the Discrete Wireless solution was that they could interoperate with WMUA’s GIS mapping technology with a robust Web Services offering.”

Additionally, Noel notes that the MARCUS Web application has provided WMUA with 100% reliability; they have had no problems with system availability. Moreover, the installation process was extremely easy with WMUA running into no issues.

Mike Scarbrough, CEO of Discrete Wireless, Inc., said, “Clients like the WMUA provide us with great success stories and long-term partnerships. Our Web Services offers an extensive API resource for customers to transfer data easily between their online fleet management software and other operational applications that help them effectively manage their business and fleet operations.”

Noel also attributes the Idle Alerts to a more productive and cost-effective fleet. Noel adds, “Through user-defined alerts, I can immediately identify when a vehicle has stopped from more than 30 minutes when that’s not a normal idle time for a particular vehicle in our fleet.”
