Today (May 9, 2011), the City of Providence, Rhode Island, purchased the iCompass Meeting Management Solution, a technology service that will provide easier access to information for their public and Council as well as a reduction in paper waste.

“iCompass had exactly what I was looking for to get the process started for a paperless council, they listened to my concerns to pinpoint exactly what I needed, and the price fit within our tight budget constraints,” said Anna Stetson, City Clerk for the City of Providence.

“We’re looking forward to realizing the efficiencies and cost savings that the iCompass service will bring to our organization,” added Stetson.

“We are excited to welcome the City of Providence – one of the most progressive and technology savvy local governments in all of New England – to the iCompass family and we are happy to be offering them our unique Meeting Management Solution,” said Todd Stone, President & CEO of iCompass Technologies.

“Local governments are faced with managing substantial amounts of documents and responding to constituent requests in a timely fashion all the time,” said Stone. “Providence is yet another example of the fact that for the first time ever, local governments no longer need to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on over-built and complex solutions for managing their information. Rather, with iCompass’ CivicWeb solution, they can embrace hosted applications that are tailored to their workflow processes and are much easier to use, at a substantially lower cost than was previously available to the market,” added Stone.
