Growth necessitates change, and the unveiling of our new name marks a significant milestone for the company.

Motive Systems, the developer of M-Files easy document management software and the cloud-based document management service M-Files Cloud Vault, today announced its new company name, M-Files Inc. The company’s name in Finland, the location of its European headquarters, has also officially changed from Motive Systems Oy to M-Files Oy.

M-Files has become synonymous with excellence in document management, and is widely recognized among customers, partners, stakeholders, and other industry influencers. The company changed its name to more closely align with its primary business, solutions and market position as a leading provider of easy to use professional document management solutions, as well as to better leverage and accelerate the growth of the popular M-Files brand.

“Growth necessitates change, and the unveiling of our new name marks a significant milestone for the company,” said Greg Milliken, president of M-Files Inc. “A unified M-Files brand enables us to communicate more effectively with our customers and partners around the world, and it also better aligns our corporate identity with our strategic vision and growing family of solutions based on M-Files. With the change we now become singularly focused on growing our company around our uniquely easy and powerful M-Files solution and the superior service that differentiates us from the rest of the market.”

M-Files is a powerful document management system that enables companies and organizations of all sizes and industries to make dramatic gains in efficiency and productivity by improving the way they organize, manage and track business documents and processes -- all without requiring employees to change the way they work. M-Files eliminates the need for chaotic Windows folders by organizing documents using simple tags and keywords. With M-Files, users store documents in a centralized vault, the same as they would on any other hard drive on the system or network, but rather than searching for the right folder, users simply save documents to the vault and tag. M-Files works like Windows Explorer, so the vault is accessed like My Documents, it's just faster and more secure. Finding files is as simple as typing in a tag or performing a full-text search right from the Open or Save dialog box of any Windows application. M-Files is also available as a cloud-based service known as M-Files Cloud Vault that eliminates the need to purchase and configure a server, and provides all the benefits of M-Files for a low monthly fee.
