Author Willi Fischer Jed paints smiles on children’s faces as she graces the publishing world with her literary prowess showcased in the pages of Song of the Seasons, her newly released picture book made available through Xlibris.
Song of the Seasons begins with an inquisitive little boy who asks his mother how he can identify one season from another. Lovingly, his mother starts telling him four different tales, each reflecting the wonders that unfold during every season. For the Season of Spring, the fairies play and gather to create a magical Fairy Ring. During Summer, the breathtaking sea becomes a playground for the different sea creatures, children, and the rays of the sun. Mouse families frolic and ride golden leaves down the river in the Fall. Finally, in Winter, the north wind roars down the mountain where children play, then come into the fireside glow to celebrate the holidays.
“A ballad for your little ones / (Who never ask for reasons) / 'Bout frogs 'n fairies, winds 'n seas - / It's all about the seasons. / A mommy tells her curious son, / In answer to his queries, / How Spring 'n Summer differ / And Fall 'n Winter theories. / A bedtime tale to tell with love, / (And wide-eyed tots believe) / Of sprightly Spring and feath’ry Fall / And joys of Christmas Eve. / And if your house boasts more than one / Whose echoes patter-pitter, / Just round them up and read to each / And ev'ry giggling critter,” the author whimsically describes the book.
Filled with carefully illustrated images, Song of the Seasons delightfully uses endearing rhymes to make the stories even most exciting. From page to page, it takes the young ones to a wonderful world of make-believe where imagination lingers longer than the unfolding of each season.
This book will be featured at the Book Expo America Book Exhibit in New York City, which will run May 23 to 26, 2011. For more information on this book, interested parties may log on to http://www.Xlibris.com.
