New interactive site launched for experts and thought leaders to discuss, debate and define issues affecting the supplement, food and beverage, and cosmeceutical industries.

VIRGO, an information distribution company focused on the most innovative and complex business-to-business markets that fuel the U.S. (and world) economy, announced the launch of “SupplySide Community,”, an always-on interactive community for the SupplySide audience. The site, offering a continuous environment for like-minded professionals to interact around important topics in the supplement, cosmetic, and food and beverage industries, launched last week at SupplySide East, held May 2 to 4 in New Jersey.

“The SupplySide Community will serve as the digital complement to the incredible SupplySide events we have built for our audience—giving our attendees the opportunity to keep their connections going all year long around the biggest issues within the community most relevant for them, be that the supplement, food and beverage or cosmetic community.” - John Siefert, CEO, VIRGO

Thought-provoking community managers will lead conversations and visitor interaction around themed content every month giving site participants a vehicle to discuss, debate and define major issues affecting their businesses. The supplement, cosmetic, and food and beverage community managers are:

  • Douglas J. Peckenpaugh, Food and Beverage Community Manager & Community Director, has been managing editor of Food Product Design for the last seven years. His career has centered on food and agricultural publishing, working as a writer, editor and publisher of magazines, books and websites.
  • Pete Croatto, Supplement Community Manager, has written about the natural products industry since 2003. Formerly the associate editor at Vitamin Retailer Magazine, his articles have appeared in Natural Products Marketplace, Life Extension, Natural Foods Merchandiser, and others.
  • Lindsay Mattioli, Cosmetic Community Manager, is a writer and blogger who has reported on trends in cosmetics, innovations in skin care and cosmeceuticals, mainstreaming the natural and organic market, and much more. She has written for HAPPI and Beauty Packaging.

Site registration isn't necessary to post comments. Registrants can create links to deeper information, launch message boards, and download premium content, including reports, research and community summaries.

In May, the supplement community will examine economic adulteration, the food and beverage community will discuss production costs, and the cosmetic industry will tackle a “cosmeceutical” conversation.
