World’s foremost imaging innovator contracts branded entertainment home improvement show to renovate a family lounge area in a South Florida children’s hospital; showcasing online digital photo developing service

Designing Spaces (http://www.mylifetime.com/shows/designing-spaces), a national home improvement TV show produced by O2 Media on Lifetime Television, recently announced a partnership with KODAK Gallery to renovate the ‘teen room’ at Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital (JDCH) in Hollywood, Fla. The project, which kicks off Designing Spaces’ “Miracle Makeovers to Remember” series, will air on the do-it-yourself show, Friday June 17, and Friday June 24 at 7:30am ET/PT on Lifetime Television. Via O2 Media’s Brandutainment ™ platform, Designing Spaces will highlight KODAK’s online digital photo developing service, KODAK Gallery (http://www.kodakgallery.com), throughout the two episodes.

“We are grateful to O2 Media’s Designing Spaces for renovating an area that serves as a gathering place for many children and families at the hospital,” said Nina Beauchesne, administrator, Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital. “Their creative designs will be enjoyed by many patients and families for years to come.”

Designing Spaces’ “Miracle Makeovers To Remember” series applies the show’s home improvement expertise to improving spaces at cause-based locations around the country. For its first project, Designing Spaces has assembled a talented roster of industry experts, also known as the Designing Spaces Dream Team, to help with the transformation of the lounge space. The team’s line-up includes medical experts, celebrities, sports legends, television producers, brand executives, toy manufacturers, video game home improvement specialists -- and of course the children who are the true all-stars of the Designing Spaces Dream Team.

“Words cannot express how excited we are about this very rewarding project,” Lysa Liemer, executive vice president of programming at O2 Media, explains. “A parent’s worst nightmare is having a child hospitalized. By creating this amazing room, our hope is to provide a place where patients and their families can retreat to escape the anxieties of hospital life. We’re creating a fun space and a home away from home, which is a true labor of love.”

‘Sunshine yellow’ was chosen as the primary color for the room to reflect optimism, enlightenment, and happiness. A stage will be built for the teens and staff members to create their own internal television show. Meanwhile, guests can relax in the room’s new comfy, funky furniture. Finally, teen patients will apply the finishing touch by contributing pictures produced on KODAK Gallery of the things they love most, which will line the windows and walls throughout the room. The story these pictures tell will serve as the main focal point and inspiration for making over the new family space.

“It’s all about feeling great inside and out. These young people have had to deal with incredible challenges, and we’re happy to celebrate their successes, and most importantly their strength. We’re hoping the new family lounge will encourage the teens to continue on in their amazing journey,” Rahnel Romasanta, senior manager, merchandising and design at KODAK Gallery, says.

The makeover of the family lounge wouldn’t be complete without the help of other contributing sponsors. Performance Design Products, an industry leader in designing and manufacturing video game accessories will be donating gaming accessories, including a wide variety of Wii™ Products, and Step2®, America’s largest toy manufacturer will be donating toys, play houses, wagons and play mats.
