The event on May 24-25, 2011 in Washington, D.C., is your unique chance to support the DR industry.

ERA anticipates a strong showing for this year’s Government Affairs Fly-In, with record-setting attendance expected.

The Electronic Retailing Association (ERA) will host the 2011 ERA Government Affairs (GA) Fly-In May 24-25, 2011 at the Washington SunTrust headquarters in our nation’s capital. The registration deadline is May 15, so there’s still time to sign up for this must-attend event.

“ERA anticipates a strong showing for this year’s Government Affairs Fly-In, with record-setting attendance expected. ERA’s membership is looking forward to being briefed by an all-star lineup of panelist on issues affecting the industry,” says Bill McClellan, ERA’s vice president of government affairs. “We are excited about facilitating constituent meetings between ERA members and their respective Congressional delegations to promote the industry and explain to Capitol Hill how issues such as Streamlined Sales Tax, Behavioral Advertising and Net Neutrality can adversely affect our thriving industries ability to service our customers.”

Attending the GA Fly-In provides ERA members and industry thought leaders a prime opportunity to:

Meet with key lawmakers: This year, we have moved the Fly-In to Tuesday-Wednesday in order to give you more direct contact with members of Congress than ever before.

Network: Advocacy is like a team-sport, so you have the opportunity to truly get to know your colleagues and to get beyond the business card exchange. The price of the Fly-In includes two fantastic networking receptions as well.

Learn: Become a better advocate in a fun and interactive setting.

Demonstrate the power of the DR industry: Let policymakers know that the direct response industry is strong and vibrant.

Most importantly, protect your business from unnecessary regulation.

About the ERA Government Affairs Fly-In
In May 2010, 80 leaders in the direct response industry gathered in Washington, D.C., for the 2010 ERA Government Affairs Fly-In. Participants enjoyed fantastic networking at two receptions — one held at the Venable LLP offices and the other at the Hotel George. The Congressional Insights Game, a new addition to the GA Fly-In, received rave reviews and provided attendees with a fun and interactive way to learn about what goes on in Congress. Participants attended more than 40 Hill meetings, including a record number of meetings with members of Congress. Most importantly, GA Fly-In attendees helped to shape the outcome of two pending legislative proposals.
